Full-Time & Seasonal Training
To empower the holistic development of our student athletes in an immersive environment that is safe, demanding, innovative, and fun.
Mental Training, Goal Setting, and Development Planning
Mental training is an integral part of our program. Rooted in goal setting, our players set yearly, quarterly, and weekly benchmarks using a system that helps them achieve their successes. Players also dedicate time to work on their on-court routines along with theory session on preparation and other essential topics.
Remote Coaching, Lessons, and Monitoring
We offer coaching and support for players training outside of our tennis facilities who want to benefit from our expertise. Packages are personalized and can include development plans, goal setting and monitoring, digital lessons, and tournament support. For this option to succeed, players typically spend time at our academy facilities on a quarterly basis.
Tournament Travel and Support
Barth-Hawtin Tennis Academy travels to tournaments year-round to offer support at state, sectional, national, and international level events. Fees apply for tournament travel and some tournaments are included for our full-time players.
Movement, Serve, and Match Analysis
This service is typically for outside players coming in who want to be evaluated in one or more areas of their game. These services typically require a half day minimum for Bruce to complete.

Full-time & Part-time Academy
During the academic school year–from Labor Day to Memorial Day–the Barth-Hawtin Tennis Academy offers 25 hours of comprehensive training weekly. Full-time and part-time athletes begin their week with goal setting, ensuring individual development within a group training environment. Our curriculum is designed to develop all aspects of each player’s game, with our world-class staff guiding the athletes on their direction and goals daily.
Part-time players joining for partial weeks or months follow the same process and schedule as full-time students, and typically work remotely with academy coaches to ensure the goal setting process is continued.
Housing options available.
Summer Training
During the summer, Barth-Hawtin Tennis Academy welcomes larger numbers of part-time players each week. Our full-time players typically remain training throughout the summer, though they do take periodic weeks off to travel or visit home. Our summer attendance varies from 30-50 players each day, ranging in UTR from 4-13. Professional teams also train with our academy during the summer, but typically less than in the spring or fall due to tournament schedules. Summer months on Kiawah Island are extremely busy and academy accommodations reserve quickly.
Dr. Mark Kovaks
Barth-Hawtin Tennis Academy is partnered with Dr. Mark Kovacs and the Kovacs Institute to provide world-class strength and conditioning services. Our expert coaches and staff implement the plans created by Dr. Kovacs on a daily basis. Mark and his team visit quarterly for fitness testing and to monitor progress. This is also an option for part-time players.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
Our brand-new, on-site fitness center—exclusively for Barth Hawtin students—supports the training programs developed by Dr. Mark Kovacs. The space features modern equipment and flexible areas for both individual and small-group sessions.
